Calling all right-brain entrepreneurs! Have you ever wondered what your fellow artists and creative business owners are doing in their business? What ways they get the word out about their work? What they find rewarding and challenging in their business?
You know you could learn a lot just be getting a peek at what others are up to and how that compares to your own entrepreneurial ventures.
In my book The Right-Brain Business Plan, I call this painting the picture of your business landscape (Chapter 3). It's about doing the research (a.k.a. "detective work") to understand your peers and the marketplace.
Take the Enterprising Artist Survey
They're hosting the Enterprising Artist Survey and if you consider yourself part of the creative entrepreneurship community (and if you're reading this, I bet you are!), then you're more than welcome to participate.
(Note: when we say artists, that doesn't just mean people who draw and paint. Any kind of creative endeavor is fair game, be it photography, crafts, graphic design, music etc.)
What's in it for you?
When you take the survey, you have the option of getting to see a summary of the survey results 30 days after the survey is closed (you just need to leave your e-mail address in your survey response). That means having access to some really great (and FREE!) market research (or what I call doing your "detective work"). What a great way to get a sense of your own business landscape.
Plus, if you leave your name, website and/or Twitter details, Dan will include you in a roundup post on his site Right Brain Rockstar shortly after the survey is closed. Why not take advantage of another way to help get your name out there!
I'm looking forward to seeing the results and gaining a deeper awareness of what this creative entrepreneurial community needs. Rock on you right-brain rockstar!
