Elect Yourself President

The U.S. election has happened and the results are… the results. Someone wins, others don’t. That’s how it works in a democracy. What’s important now is what you choose to do about it. If you need to, step away. Breathe. Take a walk. Get your head back on straight and really take a look at what’s important in your business and in your life.

The sun comes up again each day and each day you get to choose how you’re going to show up. If you choose to show up as a whiner and complainer or as a boaster and gloater, you accomplish nothing except to perpetuate the divisiveness that a segment of the population finds appealing.

Here’s a novel concept: choose to show up as President of Your World. Show up as the competent, hard-working, delightful rock star that you are. Now doesn’t that sound more appealing? Choose to go to work on the things you can directly control and have an impact on. Choose to make your world a good place to be.

This does not mean you don’t have an opinion or that you’re an ostrich with its head in the sand. What this means is you’re being proactive and choosing how you want to live and how you want to show up in your business and in your life.

It also means you’re setting an example that others can follow. Be an adult, be a leader, be confident in yourself and your abilities. Go out and show others how your world is thriving. Your creative work matters regardless of who is in office. You’re able to roll with the things thrown at you. You’re able to work through obstacles or around them. You’re in charge of you and you just happen to be the newly elected President of Your World!

Create a world that you want to play in.
